My name is Troy Freeman I am the founder and director of the Free-Man house.
We are a not for profit Christian based sober living house.
I started the Free-Man house in 2007 with one house that was donated by A Pastor I met while I was in the Texas prison system for the 7th time. I had a dream that I wanted to be involved in a ministry that was willing to help those less fortunate than myself! That was hard to believe that there were less fortunate people than myself, but there are those that have not yet found the love of Jesus Christ, and I was convinced that I could become a leader in this. I started the Free-Man house we now have 5 houses in Dallas Texas, we are involved with the homeless and people that have nowhere to go after release from prison and treatment centers. I have now started a business that involves the residents of the Free-Man house in a work program that is called Ushell it. We make automatic kinetic pecan nut krackers and the famous automatic Mr. Pea Sheller it shells all kinds of peas. These both can be found on our website ushellit.com. Well it is another Sunday at the free-manhouse here in Dallas,
we started out like usual.............
first the round table, a place that we at the free-man house can discuss our week and also the up coming events, this is a forum where we can talk about our concerns and struggles that we have had throughout the week, kinda a way to give kudos and vent our personal problems amongst our peers!
this lasts from 8:00am to 9:00 am.
after this we go to church at the Crosstimbers church in Keller Texas,
we have chosen this church for the reason that we are welcomed with open arms and generosity from all the Congregation.
After we got home we had a birthday party for Troy.
We had hot dogs, hamburgers, and all the fixin's including ice cream and cake!

next we went on our mission from God that is distributing food to the homeless and less fortunate.
This is something that we do every Sunday.
We have been doing this for 5 years with out missing a Sunday!!!
also we serve hot meals to them on both Thanksgiving and Christmas.
As I said, we do this every weekend and sometimes we have to look for our brothers in order to give them food bags......
We also met up with another christian group from Waxahachie Tx.

this weekend we went on a charity motorcycle run sponsored by THE THIRD TRADITION motorcycle club it was for the Touchstone recovery ranch!
we started out from the Stephenville, TX park and made 5 stops to raise money for them. They are a new recovery ranch and detox with horses!

ReplyDeleteMy name is Linn Reeder and as a resident of the Free-Man House for nearly 3&1/2 yrs.,I have been richly blessed in my personal relationship with my Lord, Jesus Christ, and with my fellow man. The structure and accountalbilty was essential to my staying clean and sober, as well as learning how to walk out my faith and new life in Christ. Anyone seeking to change their lives through faith in Christ as their higher power can as long as we know that(1) we can never do it alone-we must be connected- and,(2) Those we are connected to must hold us accountable. That is where minitries such as the Free-Man House make the difference. One soul at-a-time. May God bless you and keep you as He make His face to shine upon you and give you His peace. Amen!
